An important Tudor Castle, this site is owned by English Heritage (www.english-heritage.org.uk) who have restored the Castle which is now a visitor attraction and hosts a variety of special events.

Restoration of the Castle gardens, recently handed back by the Ministry of Defence, is underway. Working to an exciting design by the internationally respected Christopher Bradley-Hole.

The SWRDA are working closely in partnership with English Heritage to improve the surroundings and parking for the Castle so that more people can take advantage of this 'hidden gem'.

The historic castle is only part of the natural heritage of the Dorset Coast which led to a bid for World Heritage Status for this attractive coastline.
